Text Counter FAQs
Common questions about text counting
How are words counted?
Words are counted by splitting text on whitespace. Multiple spaces between words are treated as a single separator, and empty text returns zero words.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time is estimated based on an average reading speed of 225 words per minute. This is a general estimate and may vary based on content complexity and reader speed.
What counts as a sentence?
Sentences are identified by periods, exclamation marks, and question marks. Text ending with these punctuation marks is counted as a sentence.
How are paragraphs counted?
Paragraphs are counted by splitting text on double line breaks (blank lines). Each non-empty block separated by blank lines counts as one paragraph.
Is my text stored?
No, all text counting happens entirely in your browser. We do not store, log, or transmit any text. Your content remains completely private.
Can I copy the text?
Yes! Click the copy button to copy your text to the clipboard. The text will be ready to paste wherever you need it.
